The NAAAHR Birmingham Chapter of was chartered in January 2001. Twelve Charter Members from a diverse group of Birmingham organizations, as well as a sole proprietor, introduced the city to our organization in a formal kick off in April 2001. Southern Progress was the host corporation for this event. Alabama Power was our corporate sponsor for the Kick Off.

The association exists to provide a forum where African-American Human Resource practitioners can share, gain information, network and provide leadership on issues affecting their individual career, and the quality of work/life for other African-Americans promoting the human resources profession.
